As leisure time becomes more precious, time on the golf course comes at the expense of spending quality time with family and friends. The emphasis on practice and improvement of one’s game is also becoming more relevant as the use of technologies, such as Trackman, is becoming a standard tool at most golf clubs. Proper fittings, lessons or just a good workout are all great uses of the Club’s practice range. The industry shows greater attention to activities that take less time, are social, and also lower the barrier to entry into the game. Juniors and other beginners crowd the range before they hit the first tee, and we need to strive to have a first‐rate practice facility.
Based on this important industry trend, Bigwin has developed an exciting design with Doug Carrick to expand the size of the practice facility. The project which has just begun will include increasing the length of the range, almost doubling the size of the tee deck, and fully converting the area to a meaningful teaching, practice and activity area. The vision is to create an amenity that can be used to both socially and to improve game of our members and guests. The work is expected to be completed by spring of 2019.
To grow participation in golf the first thing you need to do is put a club in a person’s hands, have them hits some balls, and most importantly put a smile on their face by allowing them to have fun!
